Our Mission
The Mission of Ouachita Christian School is to prepare youth for time and
eternity. Our primary focus is on our students' spiritual lives.
With daily prayers and Bible classes, regular chapel assemblies, and a
Christian atmosphere in every classroom, students receive the guidance
needed for spiritual growth. The OCS student body is very active in
the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). The Moms-in-Touch group
meets regularly to pray for our school. At OCS, children are in a
safe, comfortable environment where they are given confidence and support to
soar to their highest abilities.
A Christian environment is also a disciplined environment. We
believe in supporting the same strong discipline in school that parents
expect at home. Drugs and alcohol are absolutely prohibited on and off
campus, and random drug testing is conducted throughout the school year.
School Profile
There are three curriculum levels at OCS: Basic College Prep,
Accelerated College Prep, and Advanced College Prep. These emphasize
basic disciplines and the liberal arts on the premise that critical thinking
and expression are essential to the vitality of our culture. Our goal is
to make learning a stimulating experience emphasizing basic disciplines,
critical thinking, and artistic expression so that our students will develop
the motivation, discipline, and intellectual curiosity necessary to fulfill
their potential. To meet this goal we provide faculty members who are
not only well prepared in their disciplines, but who also appreciate the
individual differences of their students.
