Teacher's Appreciation week was February 13th-17th, 2017. To be honest, we were expecting to be treated for being in the education system (oh, you know, jeans days and snacks) but we were overwhelmed when we were treated so lavishly. Every single day of the week brought food, treats and many great laughs. We are thankful for all of our students and their families, along with the great support system brought to this school by the P.E.P. Squad (Praying Eagle Parents). We wanted to do a bit of a recap to thank everyone who had a hand in making us feel so special during Teacher's Appreciation Week 2017.
Of course, the entire week was started off right since we were allowed to wear jeans every. single. day! Don't judge, we love our jeans. But along with the greatness of jeans, we were treated to muffins and coffee on Monday morning. Is there any better way to start a Monday than with coffee? And muffins? And they were provided by Daily Press! You know they were great. We even had a few left over that were snacked on the rest of the day. Thank you Daily Press for helping up start our week off right with a great breakfast.

Tuesday came fast... So we were treated with Sonic drinks and prizes provided by Hixson Ford (they know fast!). They gave us discounted oil changes and sonic drinks. But that's not all that came on Tuesday. Kayla's Kitchen stopped by after lunch to provide us with some amazing bread pudding. It didn't last long at all and was a great pick-me-up after lunch. We would like to say 'Thanks!" to Hixson Ford and Kayla's Kitchen for making us feel special.

Wednesday is our usual hump day... but not during Teacher's Appreciation Week! Newk's Eatery came by after lunch with their great Iced Tea and snacks! YUM! Another great treat to keep up going, especially halfway through an amazing week. And just when we thought it couldn't get better... Every employee was given a frozen casserole to take home. The casseroles were made by The Coffee Bean and were provided by this amazing group of businesses:
Bancorp South
Billy Branch, M.D.
Chris Thomas, Farm Bureau Insurance
Community Pharmacy
Coughran Medical Group
Darren Dougan, American National Insurance.
Farmerville Drug
Halley Timber
Homerun Healthcare
InFit Monroe
Katy Balsamo, Attorney at Law
Kilpatrick Funeral Homes
Louisiana Pain Care, Vince Forte, M.D.
Moss Eyecare
Raymond Construction
Riverbend Rehab Hospital
Thank you for your generosity. We love our treats and the casseroles were delicious!
As much as we thought "Oh my goodness... how much more can they come up with? We are so full and happy, we might just bust!", we didn't bust. Instead, we were greeted with another amazing hot breakfast in the library on Thursday. This time, breakfast was provided by the OCS P.E.P. Squad. This group of parents made everything we could have wanted for breakfast: sausage balls, casseroles, sticky buns, coffee.... you name it, it was probably there! We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast. It fueled our Thursday!

Last, but definitely not least, we came to school on Friday. Elementary teacher's classes were escorted to lunch by Moms and all of the faculty and staff were invited to a lunch catered by Trapp's and provided by Bank of Ruston, Marion State Bank and Smallcakes. Lunch consisted of gumbo and rice, grilled chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, fire roasted corn and salads. Dessert consisted of king cakes from The Coffee Bean (provided by the 10th grade class) and cupcakes from SmallCakes. As we ate, we were drawn gift cards and prizes. Everyone received an envelope with multiple gift cards of different values and some amazing coupons and vouchers, all provided by OCS families and local businesses. We would love to thank the following for making us feel so loved and special on Friday:

All of the parents & students who have donated gift cards and door prizes
All of the parents who have volunteered throughout the week
12th grade - drinks and decor
10th grade - king cakes
Donations from area businesses:
Catfish Charlie's
Dairy Queen
Eskamoe's
Jimmy John's
Johnny's Pizza
Rocketfast Car Wash
Texas Roadhouse

Dear OCS students, family and friends,
Your generosity is truly a blessing. We are thankful for each and every one of you, from the bottom of our hearts. Having a great support system from our OCS families is the greatest gift from God. We enjoy educating your children but, more importantly, we are here to prepare them for time and eternity. Thank you for supporting us as we continue to do exactly that.
With His Love,
OCS Faculty and Staff
