Due:
Students will use Model Magic Clay (red, blue, yellow and white) and create their own insect. Those students who are not at school and are currently homeschooling can get clay sent to them for this project. See attached powerpoint for examples.

Students will do a full size acrylic painting using layers of masking tape. Students will begin this project on Monday, March 22nd. See attached Google Slide Presentation. Lesson will be taught on Monday, March 22nd and video will be posted on that day.

There will be no LA Tech Assignments this week. In addition, there will be no painting assignments this week. We will continue painting our button projects when we return. The LA Tech test will now be after we return from Spring Break.

Students will take a picture, with their phone, of the many buttons in the button box in the art room. They will then blow it up and crop it so there is no background showing. They will do a painting of their image on one full sheet of canvas using acrylic paint and brushes

Students will begin acrylic painting with pointillism. They will review the color wheel and look at the work of Georges Seurat. They will create an acrylic pointillism painting on a 9" x 12" piece of canvas.

This is the Lesson and Explanation of the Project Pointillism. If you are unable to attend school and wish to begin, please email me at [email protected] and I will have materials for you in the front office for pickup. If you are unable to have someone pick them up let me know and I will bring to you.

Students will begin watercolor. They will choose a landscape to paint and use all three of the basic watercolor techniques to put into their paintings. Class lesson, instruction video and powerpoint to come on Tuesday (Dec. 8).

Students will paint the color wheel using only the 3 primary colors. Homeschool students can use crayons and overlap the colors. Class instruction video will be on Monday. Stay tuned.

This is your study guide for Exam 2. We will watch all the videos in class, but they are also on your video site so you are welcome to watch them again. We will answer all the questions in class as well.

You will put shading in your face by using your ebony pencil and your stump

Students will draw their self portrait by using the Face Formula. Students will use the handout sheets, a mirror, their pad of paper, ebony pencil, stump, and erasers to sketch the formula and plug in their features. They will shade their face in using their stump to blend.

Students will look at the art of Georgia O'Keeffe and discuss the blending techniques and cropped images. They will begin a chalk pastel drawing in the style of Georgia O'Keeffe. The lesson will be taught Monday, October 19th so look for video instruction to come.

Your task today is to find 5 objects and draw around them to turn them into something else. You will need paper and a pen. This can be computer printing paper or if you need to come get your art bag from the classroom just shoot me at text at 318-372-0943 and I will run it out to your car from the fire escape. You will pick up small objects around your home, place them on a page, and see what you think of. You can draw in pencil and then over it in pen if you wish. You can draw from your imagination or you can look on the internet to see what something looks like. You may need a few attempts to get what is in your mind onto paper. Next, you need to take a photograph of your creation. Make sure you place it in good light and hold your phone directly overhead. Finally place all of your photos into one document and email them to me at [email protected]. These are due this Friday, October 9th.

Students will design a composition that they will apply black glue to all the lines. They will let dry completely and then apply watercolor.

This is the study guide for your first Exam. The test will be in two parts 1) Slides (you will need to know the Name of the work, Date, Culture, Period, and Artist if known. You will need to spell all correctly. Part 2) is Matching. I have listed the terms and the videos you will be able to find them on your sheet. Please be aware you will not only have to know the meanings of each term; in many cases, you will have to know how and the way they were used.

We are continuing to carve our linoleum prints and then printing them. Tuesday (September 22) LA Tech video 7 and Thursday (September 24) video 8.

Students will view the powerpoint on printmaking and research examples. They will draw their designs on a piece of linoleum. They will carve their designs into the linoleum using carving tools. They will print at least 2 prints which they will turn in for a grade. One they will color with oil pastels and the other their best print.
