OCS Community Service Hours Form

In Ephesians 4:11- 13, we are called to prepare God’s people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. In all high school Bible classes, community service hours will be used to complete a student’s final average in Bible. Requirements are as follows:
Freshmen- 9 hours
Sophomores- 10 hours
Juniors- 11 hours
Seniors-12 hours
If a student is attempting to attain a “Service Above Self” honor cord (Senior) or award (Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Grade), the student will need to meet the minimum requirement of 25 service hours.  Hours can be obtained from church ministries (working the nursery, teaching VBS, mission trips, or anything else meant to serve others), community activities (food bank, homeless shelters, mentoring/ tutoring, etc.), or OCS related activities where the student is serving the school community (field day volunteer, Family Fun Day volunteer, reading to classes, tutoring, etc.). Each student must submit verification to Mrs. Devinney or Mrs. Ellerman on a letterhead from the church or organization with the signature of the supervising adult or by having the supervisor complete the form below. Hours can be obtained from May 12 through May 1 of the current school year.
