1:1 Google School
Ouachita Christian School was one of the first schools in Louisiana to become a Google School, with a 1:1 use ratio of students to Google Chromebooks. This designation was earned in the 2014-15 school year.
All students in 1-12 are assigned their own Chromebook. Students in PreK-3rd grade have access to their Chromebooks in their classrooms, which stay in the classroom. Fourth through 12th grades are assigned their equipment for the year.
OCS integrates the use of the Google Suite products---Google Classroom, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and many others--into the teaching and learning process. Two Level 2 Google for Classroom Certified educators provide training for both teachers and students and administer proficiency assessments both annually and as needed.
Google Classroom is the platform used for each class, providing seamless, daily instruction for students. Additionally, each K-12 classroom is equipped with interactive flat-panel smart boards and computers.
