Describe Your College/ Career Path: I attended LSU after graduating from OCS in 1999 and then transferred to OLOL College in 2002 for nursing school where I earned my Associate of Science in Nursing in 2004, then after being a stay at home mom for several years I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from OLOL College in 2016, and in 2018 I obtained my Master of Science in Nursing from FranU as part of the inaugural MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) graduating class. After graduating, I went into family practice with Dr. Greg Green at St. Francis Primary Care Clinic CHC where I am still currently practicing. As a primary care provider, I specialize in diagnosing and managing patients with acute and chronic conditions. I provide individualized care to each patient, helping them to achieve their best overall health and well-being. I am one of the few practitioners in our area to be certified in treating chronic migraines with Botox injections.
Greatest Career/ Professional Accomplishment(s): In 2023, named one of the area's top nurse practitioners by Bayou Life's Top Docs. In 2025, recipient of the FranU Alumni Hall of Distinction Shining Star Award.
What advice would you give current college students interested in pursuing a career in your field? Never stop learning! Medicine is always evolving; therefore, we must always be able to adapt, learn, and grow from these changes so that we can provide each patient with the utmost quality of care.
Favorite OCS Memory: Hands down cheering in the dome and winning the 1997 Football State Championship.
Who influenced you the most during your time at OCS and why? Mrs. Sharp! Not only did she inspire me artistically, but also personally, and still does today! She is so creative and has such a huge heart! She loves big! I am grateful that she is also a major part of my children's lives at OCS.
What is the most important thing you learned while you were at OCS? The importance of continually growing your faith in Jesus Christ and trusting in Him, He will always lead you down the right path.
What advice do you have for current students to make the most of their experience at OCS? Don't rush your time at OCS! Make lasting memories and friendships, and enjoy each year because your high school years fly by very quickly.
How did your education at OCS prepare you for what you did in college and are doing today? School was never something that came easily to me, but the personal and individualized instruction provided by the teachers at OCS prepared me for college and ultimately led me to where I am today. Describe Your College/ Career Path: I went to Harding University from Fall 2020 to Spring 2024. During the 2023-2024 year, I was enrolled in the Baptist Health College Little Rock 3+1 program for Medical Laboratory Sciences. I was able to finish my bachelor’s degree as well as get my MLS certification in 4 years. I got a job in the Summer 2024 working as a Medical Technologist at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Greatest Career/ Professional Accomplishment(s): I’ve only been at this job for 8 months, but I was Employee of the Month for January 2025!
What advice would you give current college students interested in pursuing a career in your field? Working in healthcare was always a passion for me, I just didn’t know how I wanted to do that. I love working in the laboratory because I can still give back and help others without necessarily having any direct patient contact. My advice would be to explore all areas of your passion to find the right fit for you!
Favorite OCS Memory: Our comeback win vs Calvary Baptist in the 2019 football quarterfinals!
Who influenced you the most during your time at OCS and why? Mrs. Kara Devinney influenced me the most while I was at OCS. While she never taught me in the classroom, she taught me to be more creative, bold, confident, and fun! I am thankful to know her and to have learned from her.
What is the most important thing you learned while you were at OCS? The most important thing I learned while I was at OCS is that God is continually preparing and molding you for the calling he has placed on your life. I am thankful for a school with a faculty that desires to help equip us with the tools we needed to step into our callings.
What advice do you have for current students to make the most of their experience at OCS? My time at OCS is truly some of the most treasured time of my life. Make the most of every second- I promise you will miss it one day!
How did your education at OCS prepare you for what you did in college and are doing today? All of my honors science classes at OCS prepared me very well for the freshmen science curriculum at Harding.
